Lovable Imvros the foot of the mountains Thou left behind
Holy Master’s the tracks follow,
impetuously accomplished the course
lover of the Creation Vartholomeos
urging forward to Nature’s well being
albeit, in thorns and thistles Thou keep walking with exultant foot..
You ran over the entire universe’s ends
torch of the Fathers illuminating in You. Andrew’s and Stachy’s the eastern apostolic See ,Thou ecumenically and sworn truly glorify,as martyrs do.!
Mother’s church You govern till now the holy ship in safe sheltered ports driving it.
Wrath of those striking their own Mother
wisely and forgivingly,wrestling against,Thou selected all-wonderful,
Athenagoras’s wisdom recalling to Your memory..
Peace Thou heralded and reconciliation with everyone.
Master’s talent that credited to Your hands
multiplied to the Lord
Thou have given Him back.
Βαρθολομαίου του Α’ εγκώμιον
Ερατεινής Ίμβρου υπωρείας καταλιπών
Αγίου Δεσπότου τρίβους ακολουθών
ακάθεκτον διήνυσας πορείαν,Βαρθολομαίε,
της Κτίσεως εραστά
οικολογίαν επειγόμενος..,
καίπερ εν τριβόλοις και ακάνθαις οδοιπορείς,
αγαλλομένω ποδί
οικουμένης απάσης διέδραμες πέρατα,
φρυκτωρία των Πατέρων αυγαζόμενος.!
Την κατ’ Ανατολάς αποστολικήν καθέδραν Ανδρέου και Στάχυος ευόρκως και
οικουμενικώς εις τύπον μάρτυρος
καταλαμπρύνεις…!
Μητρός νύν Εκκλησίας ναύν διακυβερνών
εν υπηνέμοις λιμέσιν ασφαλώς ευθύνεις.
Μένος μητραλοιών εν σοφία και συγγνώμη αντιπαλαίσαι επελέξω πανθαύμαστε,
Αθηναγόρου σοφίαν μνησθείς!
Ειρήνην τε ευαγγελιζομενος και καταλλαγήν Εκείνου ,
ταλαντον το Δεσποτικόν,
Σαις χερσιν πιστευθέντι,
πολυπλάσιον τω Κυρίω αποδέδωκας.!
