Το Οικουμενικό Πατριαρχείο εκφράζει τη χαρά του για την επικείμενη επίσκεψη της Α. Αγιότητος του Πάπα Ρώμης Λέοντος ΙΔ’ στην Τουρκία, ανταποκρινομένου στην εκπεφρασμένη επιθυμία και πρόσκληση της Α.Θ. Παναγιότητος του Οικουμενικού Πατριάρχου Βαρθολομαίου να τιμήσουν από κοινού την ιστορική 1700ή επέτειο της εν Νικαία Α’ Οικουμενικής Συνόδου.
Οι δύο Προκαθήμενοι θα μεταβούν στη Νίκαια της Βιθυνίας στις 28 Νοεμβρίου, ενώ ο Αγιώτατος Πάπας θα επισκεφθεί επισήμως την έδρα του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου, στο Φανάρι, στις 29 και 30 Νοεμβρίου, για να παραστεί στην εορτή του ιδρυτού της Εκκλησίας της Κωνσταντινουπόλεως Αγίου Αποστόλου Ανδρέου του Πρωτoκλήτου.
Visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV of Rome to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and to Nicaea on the occasion of the 1700th Anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council
The Ecumenical Patriarchate expresses its joy at the forthcoming visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV of Rome to Türkiye, in response to the expressed wish and invitation of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to commemorate together the historic 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council convened in Nicaea.
The two Primates will travel to Nicaea of Bithynia on the 28th of November, while His Holiness the Pope will officially visit the See of the Ecumenical Patriarchate at the Phanar on the 29th and 30th of November, to participate in the feast of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, Founder of the Church of Constantinople.
