Έγινε η φθινοπωρινή συνεδρίαση του Αρχιεπισκοπικού Συμβουλίου Καναδά υπό την προεδρία του Αρχιεπ. Σωτηρίου. Ήταν μία δημιουργική συνεδρίαση. Ελάχιστα μέλη του Αρχιεπισκοπικού Συμβουλίου απουσίασαν.
Η συνεδρίαση άρχισε με προσευχή, την οποία διηύθυνε ο Αρχιεπ. Σωτήριος ο οποίος και μίλησε στο σύνθημα της νέας εκκλησιαστικής χρονιάς «Ἔστιν δὲ πίστις ἐλπιζομένων ὑπόστασις». Εβρ. 11, 1.
Η ημερησία διάταξη εξαντλήθηκε με πολλή συνεργασία και κατανόηση. Όλες οι επιτροπές (πάντοτε καταρτίζουν γραπτή έκθεση) είχαν εργασθεί με πολύ ζήλο και σύστημα και πολλά επετεύχθησαν την περασμένη εκκλησιαστική χρονιά.
Σύμφωνα με τις εκθέσεις και τη συζήτηση καταρτίσθηκε πρόγραμμα για τη νέα εκκλησιαστική χρονιά, το οποίο θα τεθεί σε εφαρμογή.
Στις συνεδριάσεις του Αρχιεπ. Συμβουλίου έλαβαν μέρος ως παρατηρητές, ο πρόεδρος της ΑΧΕΠΑ κ. Σάββας Τσίβικος και η πρόεδρος των Θυγατέρων της Πηνελόπης κα Μάργκαρετ Δρίτσα και έδωκαν εκθέσεις για το έργο των οργανισμών τους.
Ο Αρχιεπ. Σωτήριος διεβίβασε προς όλους την αγάπη, τις ευχές και τις ευλογίες του Παναγιωτάτου Οικουμενικού μας Πατριάρχη κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίου. Πρόσθεσε επίσης, ότι προσκεκλημένος του Πατριάρχη μας πέρασε περίπου δέκα (10) αξέχαστες ημέρες μαζί του στην Ίμβρο, που είναι η ιδιαίτερη πατρίδα του Πατριάρχη.
Η συνεδρίαση του Αρχιεπισκοπικού Συμβουλίου, όπως αναφέρθηκε, άρχισε με προσευχή, αλλά και τελείωσε με προσευχή και ψάλλοντας τον πολυχρονισμό του Οικουμενικού μας Πατριάρχη.
Meeting of the Archdiocesan Council of Canada
The autumn meeting of the Archdiocesan Council of Canada took place with His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios of Canada presiding. It was a creative meeting, with few members of the Council absent.
The meeting started with prayers, led by Archbishop Sotirios, who spoke on the message of the new ecclesiastical year: “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Heb 11:1).
The agenda was completed with much understanding and cooperation. All the committees (always having a written report) worked systematically and with zeal to review the accomplishments during the previous ecclesiastical year.
According to the reports and the discussion a schedule for the new ecclesiastical year was made, which will be implemented going forward.
The President of AHEPA, Mr. Savas, as well as the President of the Daughters of Penelope, Mrs. Margaret Dritsas, participated as observers and provided reports on the work of their organizations.
Archbishop Sotirios transmitted to all the love, the wishes and the blessings of our Ecumenical Patriarch, His All-Holiness Bartholomew. He also added that, as an invitee of our Patriarch, he spent about 10 unforgettable days with him in Imbros, which is the Patriarch’s birthplace.
The meeting of the Archdiocesan Council, as mentioned above, started with prayers, but also concluded with prayer and chanting of the Polychronion of our Ecumenical Patriarch.
