Fr Alexis Torrance <\/mark><\/strong>received his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Theology from the University of Oxford. He has held research fellowships at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, the Seeger Center for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Harvard’s Dumbarton Oaks in Washington DC. He was appointed to the Faculty of Theology at the University of Notre Dame in 2014. His publications include Repentance in late antiquity (OUP) and Human Perfection in Byzantine Theology (OUP). He is completing a third monograph under contract with OUP entitled Recovering the Craft of Orthodox Theology: Understanding Seeking Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fr Alexis was ordained to the holy priesthood in Constantinople in 2020 and elevated to the rank of Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne. He serves as the Orthodox Co-Secretary of the Joint International Commission for Dialogue between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
