Professeur agr\u00e9g\u00e9 d\u2019anglais \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole alsacienne puis, par la suite, professeur de litt\u00e9rature compar\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Poitiers pendant 27 ans,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michel_Evdokimov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Michel Evdokimov<\/a>&nbsp;s\u2019\u00e9tait sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans les litt\u00e9ratures fran\u00e7aise, anglaise et russe. En 1981 il a soutenu un doctorat sur Khomiakov et les slavophiles. Apr\u00e8s sa retraite, il a aussi enseign\u00e9 au Coll\u00e8ge des Bernardins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1960, avec l\u2019aide, entre autres, de son p\u00e8re Paul Evdokimov, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine de la cr\u00e9ation de la paroisse francophone de la Sainte-Trinit\u00e9 situ\u00e9e dans la crypte de la cath\u00e9drale Saint-Alexandre-Nevski, rue Daru \u00e0 Paris, dont il a dirig\u00e9 le ch\u0153ur pendant pr\u00e8s de vingt ans. Sa connaissance de la musique (il a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019un des chanteurs du fameux quatuor Kedroff dans les ann\u00e9es 50), lui a permis de faire un gros travail afin d\u2019adapter les textes et les m\u00e9lodies liturgiques en fran\u00e7ais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lors de son premier voyage en Russie, il a d\u00e9couvert sa vraie vocation : la pr\u00eatrise. En 1979 il a \u00e9t\u00e9 ordonn\u00e9 diacre puis est devenu pr\u00eatre en 1981 dans l\u2019Archev\u00each\u00e9 des \u00e9glises orthodoxes de tradition russe en Europe occidentale (Patriarcat \u0153cum\u00e9nique). Il a offici\u00e9 d\u2019abord quelques temps \u00e0 la crypte de la rue Daru, guid\u00e9 par le p\u00e8re Boris Bobrinskoy alors recteur de la paroisse, qui l&nbsp;\u00bba form\u00e9 \u00e0 ses nouvelles fonctions. Puis il est parti desservir diff\u00e9rentes paroisses comme Saint-Nicolas \u00e0 Boulogne-Billancourt ou Notre-Dame-Souveraine \u00e0 Chaville. Mais sa vocation \u00e9tait aussi missionnaire. Il a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de fonder une nouvelle paroisse, d\u00e9di\u00e9e aux saints Pierre et Paul, \u00e0 Ch\u00e2tenay-Malabry au sud de Paris, apr\u00e8s s\u2019\u00eatre rendu compte que de nombreux orthodoxes habitaient cette r\u00e9gion mais ne pratiquaient plus faute d\u2019\u00e9glise pr\u00e8s de chez eux. Plus tard il fondera \u00e9galement une paroisse \u00e0 Poitiers. Rest\u00e9 recteur de la paroisse Saints-Pierre-et-Paul jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa retraite en 2019, p\u00e8re Michel et sa famille sont rest\u00e9s fid\u00e8les au m\u00e9tropolite Jean de Doubna, avec qui il a partag\u00e9 une vision th\u00e9ologique et eccl\u00e9siale et des liens d\u2019amiti\u00e9 depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Engag\u00e9 dans la Fraternit\u00e9 orthodoxe, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 co-fondateur et directeur du Service orthodoxe de presse (SOP), et membre de la r\u00e9daction de la revue de spiritualit\u00e9 orthodoxe&nbsp;<em>Contacts<\/em>. Toujours dans cet esprit de t\u00e9moigner et de faire conna\u00eetre \u00e0 l\u2019occident la foi orthodoxe, il a \u00e9galement particip\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 des \u00e9missions de radio (France-Culture, Radio Notre-Dame\u2026), ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision, notamment dans l\u2019\u00e9mission&nbsp;<em>Orthodoxie<\/em>&nbsp;et sur la cha\u00eene KTO. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 membre du comit\u00e9 directeur de l\u2019association Action chr\u00e9tienne pour l\u2019abolition de la torture (ACAT) pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En plus de son activit\u00e9 pastorale, le p\u00e8re Michel Evdokimov s\u2019est toujours beaucoup engag\u00e9 dans le mouvement \u0153cum\u00e9nique, et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 longtemps d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153cum\u00e9nisme. Fervent travailleur pour l\u2019unit\u00e9 panorthodoxe, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019origine de la cr\u00e9ation de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e des \u00e9v\u00eaques orthodoxes en France (AEOF) dont il a \u00e9t\u00e9 le secr\u00e9taire pendant de nombreuses ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le p\u00e8re Michel \u00e9tait mari\u00e9 \u00e0 Marie-Claire, petite-fille de l\u2019historien Jules Isaac, p\u00e8re d\u2019une fille, Sophie, et quatre fois grand-p\u00e8re. Depuis son plus jeune \u00e2ge, le p\u00e8re Michel s\u2019est consacr\u00e9 au rayonnement de l\u2019\u00c9glise orthodoxe en France, travaillant pour son renouveau liturgique et eucharistique, son enracinement et son identit\u00e9 locale, pour l\u2019unit\u00e9 panorthodoxe et son ouverture au dialogue \u0153cum\u00e9nique.
